Vanilla Syrup
Vanilla flavoured syrup that is awesome to add to coffee or drizzle on ice cream.
- Total Time: 12 minutes
- Yield: 250 Ml 1x

1 cup Water
1 cup Sugar
4 TSP Vanilla Essence (Not Imitation)
Instructions
- Put a pot of water on to boil. Place the glass bottle or jar you are going to fill with syrup into the water and boil for 5 minutes. Using caution take these bottle / Jar out with a pair of tongs.
- Place the cup of water and sugar into a pot and put over medium heat. Bring to just a boil, then lower the heat until the mixture is simmering. Let this simmer for 5 – 10 minutes.
- The mixture should be thicker and lightly golden in colour. Once the mixture has been allowed to cool to around 60’c, add in vanilla and stir. Let this sit aside to cool further.
- Once cooled pour into sterilised bottles.

You can substitute vanilla essence for a vanilla bean and half the essence.
